Hickory Terrace Farm is more than just a farm -it's an entire ecosystem! We strive to apply regenerative agriculture techniques in our small farm in order to grow food in a way that is conducive to environmental and human health. We don't use any chemicals on our farm and practice standard agronomic practices to ensure we don't overapply required nutrients. Situated on a headwater creek of the Illinois River, we are committed to limiting the impact our agriculture has on the environment. Mike and Becca have 5 degrees in agriculture between them that they work diligently to apply. As we started out as a small operation, we strive to maintain a dynamic ecosystem that can adapt as the time, weather, and seasons change. We are open to any and all inquiry and suggestions to continually improve our work.
We grow a variety of perennial fruits including blueberries, blackberries, grapes, strawberries, and raspberries!
In the summer we have plenty of tomatoes, peppers, squash, corn, beans, etc. We also offer greens, onions, potatoes in the spring.
We have a variety of laying hens to provide fresh, organic eggs.
We recently began an apiary near our creek to support honey production!
